Keeping Safe

Emergency Services

We have firemen at Edendale who help keep us safe.

The policemen keep us safe on the roads, they also teach us about crossing the road safely.
The police officer helps find people.

Ambulance officers help people who have an accident or are sick.
We have a first aid seat at our school.

We call 111 for the emergency services.
We need to learn how to call an ambulance.
We need to know our address so the ambulance knows where to go.  This is very, very important.
We need to learn how to say our street or road name and number.  We also need to know what town we live in or near and for us we live in Southland.

If we have a cell phone we can press the E word which is for Emergency Services.

We then press the green button and we will get asked what emergency service we need.
We need to know our address.

We all had a go at ringing 111 for the emergency services on our play phone.

Ambulance officers wear gloves as wet sticky stuff should not be touched!

Lana listened to her heart and breathing.

The oxygen saturation tool  measures how much oxygen is in your blood stream.

The machine for oxygen and medicine.

Air and water mixed to make a mist.  It is cold.

Thank you very much Miss McCrone for all our awesome learning to make sure we keep safe in an emergency and know what to do.
