Spring

Today Team Kea walked around school finding signs of spring.

The Potato Barn

Today we walked to Caldwells Potato Barn.  We saw lots of potatoes .  The potatoes were in big bins and then they went on the machine to get graded.  The robot bagged the potatoes.  The man then sewed the bags up.  The potatoes then go on a truck to the shops.  Mr Caldwell gave us some potatoes to cook and to grow!

Tony's Shop

Team Kea have been learning about how potatoes are processed. 

We went to Edendale Takeaways and Tony showed us how chips are cooked.

When the chips were cooked Tony put them in a bag for each of us. Tony also gave us a mini-dog and a chocolate fish.  They tasted yummy and we had fun.

Today I brought an egg to school.  It has no shell.

It looks like it doesn't have any yolk in it.

For maths we have been talking about position.

We are standing on top of the seat.

Arash and Bronson are behind a tree.

We are all beside the cars. 

We are all under the trees. 

We are all under the verandah. 

Lachie and Hudson are beside something orange, it is a cone. 

The girls are on a curved line.

Ben and Arash have found a rectangle shape. 

Bronson found a triangle shape. 

We are all behind Bronson. 

We are in a square. 

Tom used his feet to count the steps to check it was a square.  It was!
