Week 11, Term 1, 2014

Sohpie R is the Team Kea MVP for excellence.
Go Sophie... keep up the hard work and
'can do' attitude to be a great learner.

This week for maths we have been learning about time.
We know it is important to say and write the days of the week
in order.   We also need to know which days are school days
and which are weekend days.

Maddison and Hudson put the months of the
year in order.  We all know which month our
birthday is and our name is on the right
 balloon on our wall.

Lauren and Renee used the clock to make o'clock times.

Danyon and Hudson love reading and enjoyed our collection
of Clifford books this week.  We are all going to enjoy reading
everyday over the holidays so we continue to be good readers.

'I  i  ' is our letter of the week this week.  Rocco and Ben have
an ice block and an i-pad from our letter of the week table.

Arash kindly shared Easter egg with
all of us.  Thanks Arash you are very
thoughtful.

We all worked in groups to fill containers with beans.

We had containers full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty.

Team Kea at Edendale Primary School, Tom. It is great to have
 you here.

Week 9, Term 1, 2014

The tractor ploughed up part of the field so we can have
more play area.

This week we have been learning about weight.  Sophie
brought along 3 ice-cream containers to see if we could
guess which one was the heaviest!  She tricked us as
the smallest container had stones in it and was the
heaviest.  The two bigger containers weighed the same.
WOW what amazing learning Sophie!!

We used two weights that looked the same in our balance
scales.  One was much heavier than the other because
it was made of steel.  The light one was plastic.

Over the last two weeks we have been swimming everyday
with Lucianna and Kirsten.  We have learnt lots of swimming
skills and some of us can now swim 25 metres!!!  It was
such good fun.  Thank very, very much to all of the parents
who helped out.

Week 7, Term 1, 2014

Team Kea cooked potato wedges.  We cleaned and chopped
up the potatoes and then cooked them in the oven.

The wedges were delicious!
Constable Graham was at school on Tuesday and
Wednesday.  She showed us how to fit our bike
helmets correctly.
Constable Graham taught us about riding our bike safely.
On Thursday Jo from St John's Ambulance told us
about what she does.  We also learnt about when to
call emergency services and what service to call.
If we ever have to call for help we know it important for us
to make sure the ambulance gets to the right place.  We
learnt how to call 111 to get emergency help.

Mr McKenzie enjoyed the wedges too.
On Monday we got dressed up for 'Green Day'.

Everyone at school looked amazing all dressed up in green.

Yum, we had ice-creams on Monday afternoon!

Hudson grew this very big tomato in his own garden.
For art we painted a butterfly in lots of different orange
colours.  We used a line of symmetry when choosing
what colour to use.
We painted the sky using light blue at the bottom and a darker
blue at the top.
