Buddies with Team Tui

Today we had buddies after lunch.  We read our books to our buddies in Team Tui. 

Some people went to Team Tui and some people stayed in Room 1.  Some Team Tui people came to our room.  We have buddies Monday to Thursday.

Wasp Trap

Today William from Team Kahu gave us a wasp trap. 

William cut a big drink bottle to make it.  Wasps come along and smell the honey in the bottle and go in to eat it.  They then get trapped.

ANZAC Walk

Team Kea with some helpers from Team Kahu went for a walk to see the ANZAC crosses Team Kahu made.  

We also saw the BIG poppies on our fence.  The Fontera milk tankers had big poppies on the front of them too.  Thank you Team Kahu helpers.

Planting Our ANZAC Tree

Today at Edendale Primary School we planted a very special tree.  The tree is a Gallipoli pine tree.  Everyone from our school was there.  The Student Council dug the hole.  Next we had a moments silence to show our respect.  Then we sang the New Zealand National Anthem.

ANZAC biscuits

Today we iced ANZAC biscuits.  We made two each.  We had icing and chocolate buttons.  

Tracey and Tania helped us.  The biscuits tasted yummy!

Tadpoles

Team Kea is really proud of Ethan because he got a certifcate for swimming at Tadpole swimming lessons.  We need to learn to swim so we are safe in the water.  Ethan is real good at swimming!

Maths

Today we were writing the numbers before and after 17.

Today the rectangles maths group wrote number before and after 12.  We used the number lines to help us.

Today Team Tui and Team Kea made poppies.

We worked with buddies to make our poppies.

We made a wreath with our poppies.

We are learning about ANZAC Day and know why we wear poppies.
